I took this picture one day after the last rain in our area. Here in Los Angeles even in nearby places, rain is scarce. I was in our front porch and I just love how our walkway looks like when its wet. It seems like it has a glossy surface but actually when it dries it has a matte finish. The walkway is made of flagstones and was installed eight years ago. At the middle of our walkway you can find two similar three feet high columns (i am not sure how it called) with one accent light on each column. In each side of the "column" you can find similar kinds of perennial plants with very nice foliage, a combination of green, pink and brown. Before the walkway, you can find two Jasmine plants (one on each side).
Our front yard is well-maintained by my husband. Not to brag but we received a lot of good comments from our neighbors and even passersby. Hubby spent his money, time and effort in order to have a good looking house inside out. If i am not mistaken he fed our front and backyard lawn three times a year. Whenever he saw a crab grass, he will immediately kill it before it spreads out. You can also find two White Birch Tree and other plants in our front yard.
The railings you've seen in the picture are made of wood. We repainted it at least once a year, usually every summer. We try to preserve the wood by making sure that the water will not get into it when it rains, causing it to rot. Preserving is a good way of saving money!
This picture of our house was taken during winter season few years ago (My husband was single at that time). It is still almost look the same now except for the color of the house and the plants which are as twice as big as you see in the photo.
