Let's Go Greener

Do you want to be an eco-friendly individual? Did you know that there are so many ways you can do to protect our environment? You may not realize that you already contributed to save our mother nature by simply having a good home insulation in your house. This will include your loft insulation, garage insulation and the pipe lagging.  This is really what we lack in our house, a good insulation. Since our house was built in the 1950's insulation way back then was not as good as what recent houses have. But we try to do our part to help our environment even in our own small ways. During winter we only turn our sprinklers on unless it is necessary, we rarely used our dishwasher instead we hand wash our dirty dishes, we shut down our computer before we go to sleep instead of putting it to sleep and etc.

If you want to help save our environment in your own special way, their is a website that carries a wide selection of environmentally friendly products like eco-friendly toys and gifts, a range of designer reusable shopping bags, outdoor lighting, gardening supplies, eco books and more. Earthwhile is there to provide their customers a product options that will enable them to make a greener lifestyle without having to sacrifice the quality and style of the products they are using. The fun your kids will be having in playing with wooden toys and using eco-friendly flip flap is the same fun he or she will be getting by playing those toys we have in the market right now. On the other hand, using an environmentally friendly slate coaster and placemat set everyday will be a nice gift you can give to our environment.

If you live in the UK and want to help save our environment for the future generations to come, you can visit http://www.earthwhile.co.uk/ to view all the earth friendly products they carry and to get information as well regarding the product you want to purchase. Their products are also a perfect gifts to those "greeny" people whom you know. So check them out.

DIY dog bed for Christmas

Guest post written by Lizzie Calloway

We just got a new puppy a couple of months ago and I had forgotten how much trouble it is to house train a dog, but I think we finally have that under control now and we're ready to celebrate the puppy's first Christmas! She was so excited when we put up our Christmas tree and was running around. Luckily though she hasn't messed with any of the presents, which I was a little worried about.

I went online to try and find something for her that we could wrap up and she could unwrap with us on Christmas morning. I even found a few ideas for some dog stockings on our Clear Wireless Internet and considered getting her a little stocking too. But maybe that would be a little overboard.

I found some directions to make a DIY dog bed and I decided to make one for her. That's one thing that we haven't bought for her yet and she likes to curl up in our dirty laundry when we're sorting it, so I think that she'll enjoy her own little bed.

Chickpea Plant

(photo was taken during night time)

Chickpea also called as garbanzo bean is an edible legume. It is very high in protein and can be cooked and eaten cold in a salad. Some people prefer to cook it in a stew while others ground it for flour.

I got this chickpea plant when we went to Armstrong Garden Center more or less two weeks before christmas. I was not really sure if this plant will survive because we had been hit with heavy rain showers lately and it's freezing cold. Fortunately, my chickpea plant is growing and looking great. I can't wait to see it bears pods.
